Work Environment & Dress Code

SEIU’s work environment is similar to that of an Administrative Office and Call Center – strong communicators and personable employees thrive here! SEIU is also great for someone who enjoys working within a team-oriented environment but can also be an individual contributor capable of being self-directed. Within the office, each employee will have their own individual desk and cubicle within an open concept environment where 35-40 service representatives work daily. SEIU is a very community-based organization, so you’ll be invited to participate is certain union-related events and exciting outreach initiatives!

The organization frequently uses external recruiting resources like PACE to fulfill their hiring and business needs on both temporary and direct hire basis. PACE has placed many candidates at SEIU over the past few years who have had great feedback regarding their experience working at SEIU and have appreciated the thoroughness of the training they receive. The classroom-style training and job shadowing for new employees sets them up for success in this organization!

The dress code at SEIU for a job interview is Business Casual but once hired the dress code is Casual attire which includes jeans (with no holes) and clean tennis shoes if desired.  Employees are expected to maintain professional grooming standards and be clean shaven.
