Since March, Joyce has been a Program Coordination within a high-impact and mission driven team at a large Healthcare organization. The team supports the training of clinicians within low and middle-income countries (largely within Africa) on the basics of pediatric & craniofacial clinical research. This is Joyce’s second temporary assignment with PACE and she has once again proved herself to be a dependable and hard-working individual, where her previous experience in managing multiple high-level projects and internal programs has been a huge asset to our client. Joyce prides herself on herself on upholding strong interpersonal communication skills and customer service skills. Those skills have been on full display in this current role she’s supporting. Her work ethic and business acumen is stellar…and we can’t thank her enough for all she’s doing!

Enjoy this Q&A with Joyce to learn more about her!

Tell us in a couple sentences about your role and what you enjoy most about it!

I help coordinate classes, meetings, seminars and ensure clear communication between all.  It is a wonderful position within with strong female role models that have dedicated themselves to helping those children with cleft palates and other facial abnormalities. I enjoy learning every day and the challenges it presents.

How has your current role impacted your career path in the long term?

Yes, very much so. Since becoming a program coordinator, I have learned new systems, applications & programs. Expanding my knowledge base making me more marketable for future roles.

Have you picked up any new skills in your role?

Yes, I am lucky to learn as I go on my job and I have dabbled in video editing and now very fluent in working within Canvas & Canva.

Are you from the Pacific NW?

I moved here when I was three years old,  grew up on Kitsap Peninsula, and have lived in many places in Western Washington. I could not imagine living anywhere else, as much as I love the sun, I love the rain just as much.

Is this your first assignment working for a staffing company? What are the benefits of working for a staffing company like PACE in your opinion?

No, I now have had two roles.  I love the options and flexibility that PACE gives me.  I also love the fact that I can decide not to continue a role once my contract is up if I am no longer interested in working for the company.  As an employee that tends to be loyal to a fault, it gives me the opportunity to work for different companies and “try” them out and see if it is a culture that I enjoy & see a future with that company.

What has your experience been like working for PACE? How often does your recruiter keep in touch?

I feel spoiled because I have many contacts at PACE. I get texts every other week from my recruiter, the payroll department is dependable and follows up quickly and I have a great contact within PACE that is my go-to, she was the one that got my foot in the door and expanded my view of contract work. I am happy that I decided to work with PACE and their great employees.

What do you enjoy spending your time doing outside of work?

Enjoying time with my family & friends. Enjoy entertaining and cooking for others. I also volunteer for many roles with in my daughter’s life (PTO, Sports Parent, Girl Scout Mom).
